High School Band
High School Band
Summit Band Boosters is a 501(c)3 organization working to support all of the band programs at Summit High School. We provide whatever support is needed to help our directors and students make Summit Band the best band program it can be! Our group supports the band program in two ways: financially and in our volunteer time.
Summit Band Boosters provides many ways to support the band so you can be involved in a way that best fits the needs of your family. By raising funds, we are able to help our band programs above and beyond what the district budget allows. With ever increasing pressures on the school’s budget, our role in keeping the Summit Band program strong is extremely important. We are able to provide things like extra instruction from professional music instructors, extra equipment for our students, duffel bags, baseball hats and much, much more. See the list of Annual Fundraiser below.
Our group also volunteers our time to help the band. We serve as chaperones for football games and other band trips. We prepare meals and snacks for competitions and games. We sew flags and repair equipment. We help put on the annual Spring Band Banquet. We provide scholarships for our graduating seniors. And so much more.
Summit Band Boosters is a great way to get involved in your child’s high school experience and have a lot of fun. Join us at our monthly Booster Meetings. They are held on the second Monday of each month in the band hall at 7:00 PM.
Annual Fundraisers
March-A-Thon - Mid-September - Students march a predetermined parade route through a wonderful neighborhood in Arlington. Students contact family and friends to raise money for the march as well as collect donation along the parade route.
Craftfest - Second Saturday in November - This is a large, one day event that brings crafters to Summit High School from across the metroplex. There are many volunteer opportunities available for students and parents alike.
TNT Fireworks - July 4th and New Years Seasons - Band students and parents from Summit, Legacy and Timberview staff and operate the TNT Fireworks Supercenter on FM 1187, just west of Mansfield, for 10 days during the July 4th season and 10 days during the New Years season. This is one of the largest fundraisers for our organization and requires a great deal of volunteer time.
Jazz Dinner Dance - Early March - This is an enchanting evening of music, food and fun, including a silent auction of donated items. There are many volunteer opportunities before, during and after the event.
