The Three Cavaliers
Summer of 2007 Clay Donovan, class of 2006, had two other SHS Alumni join him in making history for SHS Band by touring with the DCI group, The Cavaliers. Brent Jeske and Alan Chrzanowski are both trumpet players from the class of 2005. Alan was also a Band Tech this fall for SHS Marching Band.

Heather Stephens graduated from Summit High School in 2004, and a is currently a senior at University of California at Santa Cruz.
She is majoring in politics. She is also head of the UCSC College Democrats.
She still plays her flute regularly and participates in various on-campus band activities.
When she graduates in '08, she is moving to Washington DC to make a difference!

Amanda Rosso, Class of 2007, marched with Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corp Colorguard for the 2007 season. The Glassmen of Toledo, OH, traveled the United States as gypsies, portraying their show “Gitano” in more than 40 cities. DCI World Championship Finals were held in Pasadena, CA at the Rosebowl and Glassmen finished in 11th Place. Their show was also broadcasted on ESPN2 in August and September.

Kyle Tillotson (Summit High, Class of 2007) is marching with the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band (FTAB) at Texas A&M University this fall. The FTAB is marching 327 musicians this fall. They will perform at all Texas A&M home games, as well as road trips to Lubbock, TX (Texas Tech), Stillwater, OK (Oklahoma State), and to whatever bowl game Texas A&M goes to (last year was San Diego, CA). Being in the FTAB means living with the band as a member of the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M.

Alumni of the Summit Band marched with two
Drum Corps International (DCI) Corps during the 2006 Season.
Both these Corps placed in the Finals at the DCI World
Championships in Madison, WI, on August 12, 2006.
Clay Donovan marched his first season with
The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps of Rosemont, Ill in 2006.
The Cavaliers won the 2006 World Championship with their
innovative show entitled “The Machine”. Clay is the son of
Frank and Sue Donovan and will attend the University of Oklahoma
this fall.

Jace Niederhaus marched with the Glassmen
Drum and Bugle Corps of Toledo, OH for the 2006 season. The
Glassmen finished 11th in the DCI World Championships
with their show entitled “Beethoven: Mastery and Madness”. Jace
was in his second season with the Glassmen and was a section
leader. The group toured the United States and Europe during
their 2006 season. Jace is the son of Jodi Niederhaus of
Arlington.

Melissa Rogers, was the first drum major at Summit High
School. She was drum major from 2002 to 2004. She is now
one of the drum majors at Texas Christian University. She
is a junior majoring in Music and English. She also plays
oboe and English Horn in the TCU Wind Symphony. She is the
daughter of Kevin and Jo Ann Rogers of North Richland Hills.
The TCU
Wind Symphony will be having a concert on Monday, October
23rd at 7:30 pm in the Ed Landreth Auditorium on the TCU
campus. They would love to have a bunch of SHS Band kids to
come and hear them.
