SUMMIT WINTERGUARD NEWS
April 5th
Congratulations to our Jaguar Winterguard!! They competed in the Championships and got 2nd place for the AA Division. The top three places were 1 point apart. We are so proud of their amazing accomplishments throughout this season. They were promoted twice from lower divisions into the very competitive AA Division. Kudos to Mrs. Neugent and Ms. Garmon on their first season with Summit! The hard work of the Guard members paid off with so many successful events this year. A big shout out of THANK YOU to all the Floor Crew participants. Your help was greatly appreciated.
April 4th
We would like to congratulate Kara Mangum who got 3rd place at the NTCA Winterguard Solo Competition this last Friday ! The scores were very close and Kara was in good company.
March 1st
Winterguard had an amazing weekend in Aledo on Saturday, March 1. Their first time competing in SAA, against 12 other guards, Summit finished in second place with a score of 72.3. Congratulations to Mrs. Neugent, Ms. Garman and all the girls on all their hard work this season. Summit will present their final show on April 5th at the NTCA Championships in South Grand Prairie.
The T.A. Howard Knights’ winterguard also competed in exhibition and had a great show and were recognized at retreat.
February 22nd
The Summit Winter Guard competed Friday, Feb 22 at Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas. The Guard finished in 3rd place (just 2.7 points below the first place winner) in their classification “SAAA”, but scored high enough to again be promoted by the judges to the next classification “SAA”.
January 19th
The Summit Varsity Winterguard competed January 19th at Keller High School and placed first in their classification. The score earned by the group was so
high that the judges further awarded them with a promotion to the next classification.
Two students also competed in the solo competition at Keller High School. Anna Bryan
finished in 3rd place and Kara Mangum finished in 1st place. Congratulations to all
of the members of the 3 time state champion Summit Varsity Winterguard for their
accomplishments at their first competition of the season.
